THE Green Community Fair is returning to Bournemouth as part of this year’s Bournemouth Family Festival.
Back for a fourth year, the free event takes place from 10am to 4pm at Meyrick Park on Thursday to showcase what Bournemouth has to offer and to give children, young people and adults the chance to take part in a variety of fun and interactive facilities.
The Green Family Fayre are includes free activities such as art workshops funded by Green Goals using recycled materials to make masks and giant bee puppets.
Local traders, producers and makers will also be on hand selling eco-friendly, handmade or fairly traded products. Pictured inset is a pole lathing demonstration at last year’s show.
Navitus Bay is one of the main sponsors of this year’s Green Fayre events, and will also have an exhibition set up offering information about the proposed Navitus Bay Wind Park.
Sam Monks said: “Now in our third successful year the Green Community Fairs provide eco-friendly entertainment, attract-ions and demonstrations to encourage local people to rethink how they live their lives.”
The main Green Community Fair, a two-day, solar powered event also sponsored by The Co-operative Membership, will this year take place at Shelley Park and Theatre on Friday August 30 and Saturday August 31.
