POLICE in Sherborne are appealing for the help of the public after a set of chrome taps were recovered in the town – with a picture of part of the set being released.
Officers said today that on Tuesday, July 9, they arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of theft.
Police Constable Anthony Elswood, of Sherborne Police, said: “A set of chrome taps have been recovered as a result of this double arrest and I am now able to release a picture of them.
“I hope that by sending out this image someone recognises them and will help us to find the rightful owners.
“It is possible that they have not yet realised that these taps are missing.
“Please contact us as soon as possible if you have any information that may assist with our investigation.”
A 31-year-old man of no fixed abode and a 28-year-old woman from Yeovil have been arrested on suspicion of theft and released on police bail.
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 09:269. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
