The Three Towns Travel project may not be the most popular initiative in Christchurch. There has aleady been a row about ‘unwanted’ cycle lanes.
Now another issue has reared its head as county officials propose shutting Stony Lane for a month - at the same time as the High Street is being dug up for gas works.
Stony Lane is already a congestion blackspot and it’s difficult to see how new traffic management proposals paid for from TTT pot of money will improve things.
Better planning and more consultation might yet be required in the People’s Republic of Burton.
