A POOLE boy has had his character design picked from 17,000 entries to be made to come to life after entering a national competition.
Paul Kolendo, nine, who goes to St Joseph’s Catholic Combined School, came up with the new creation for online game, Moshi Monsters, which allows children to create their own virtual pets.
Now, Paul’s creation will be seen by 80million children worldwide and has also go on display in The Strand in London.
Paul looked up the other Moshi Monsters available and from there he made his ‘Pinestein: The Joyful Juicy Brainiac’ design, which won him £1,000 worth of prizes and £500 of art equipment for his school.
Mum Wendy said: “It is a very clever design that Paul has created and I think that is why the judges liked it, because of the concept behind it.
“The game allows children to play different mental challenges, which allow them to progress through the Moshi Monsters game.
“He’s so excited and enthusiastic about winning out of 17,000 and as he loves drawing and designing anyway, it was a great idea for him to take part.”
Paul says that he came up with the design as he thinks Albert Einstein is ‘cool’ and his favourite fruit is a pineapple, so he wanted to come up with a new Moshling which was clever.
He added that he was glad to win the art items for his school.
