CHRISTCHURCH councillors welcomed the opening of new homes in Christchurch.

Leader of the council, Cllr Ray Nottage and portfolio holder for housing, Cllr Sue Spittle met with representatives from Solum Regeneration who have built 17-two and three bedroom homes off Clarendon Road.

Hyde Mews, as the development is called, has regenerated the land near Christchurch railway station.

Cllr Nottage said: “I am delighted to officially open the new show home and very much welcome the construction of these high-quality new homes in the heart of Christchurch.

“It’s great that the development is attracting a mix of buyers from young people getting their first step on the property ladder to those looking to downsize.

“Well located new homes like this will help to keep Christchurch a lively and flourishing town.”

The company is expecting “record sales” for the homes according to Jon McDiarmid, head of sales and marketing.
