A spokesperson for Dorset Police said a 25-year-old Bournemouth man had been charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance as well as other road related offences.
He is due to appear at Bournemouth Magistrates court next month.
The 25-year-old Bournemouth man was detained following a full-scale search operation on Thursday afternoon after an incident on Sunday July 21.
The police helicopter was seen hovering above the park and Whitecliff and Ashley Cross and readers reported a major police presence across the town.
The incident last Sunday in the Turbary Park area involved a Matiz containing a woman and two children, which was struck during a police chase involving a blue Vauxhall Astra allegedly attempting to escape from officers.
