MINOR fragments of asbestos have been removed from land in Bournemouth that has been earmarked for cattle grazing.
Plans to introduce cattle to land near the Cherry Tree Nursery in Northbourne are unaffected by the discovery of asbestos, council officials have confirmed.
Michael Rowland, parks development manager, said the fragments were deep in the ground and of no danger to public or cattle. They were hand picked out by contractors.
“All necessary precautions have been taken to ensure that the land is clear and safe before either the public or cattle use this area,” he said
