POLICE and Crime Commissioner Martyn Underhill has voiced his disappointment over a report on the Dorset force’s response to budget cuts.
Despite cost-cutting measures to save £22.5m by 2015, recorded crime across the county has dropped by 12 per cent.
However victim satisfaction is lower than other forces.
Commenting on Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) report on Dorset police’s response to meeting the required savings, Mr Underhill said: “I am disappointed over the failing of this report to acknowledge sufficiently the huge funding challenge Dorset police faces, compared to other forces.
“I shall continue to fight this imbalance and seek to redress the unfairness.”
