THIS rare and valuable Jaguar E-Type is getting plenty of admiring looks at a showroom in Ferndown.

John Benns Motor Company at Wimborne Road has the car, belonging to John, on show.

It is a limited edition 1975 Series Three V12 5.3L convertible with a commemorative plaque, making it one of the last produced.

Valued at around £200,000, it has done just 8,000 miles since new.

John said: “It’s a commemorative plaque edition and I bought it when it was about six months old. It’s never been out in the rain since I’ve had it.

“It was in my showroom in Wimborne and now it’s here. It’s been to Beaulieu ad it’s won concours competitions.

“It’s all original. I take it out and get it MOT’d but I don’t drive it anymore.”

The car is an automatic, has power steering, chrome plate wheels and the special commemorative plaque.

John added: “It’s good to go out on a jaunt in it but the furthest I’ve been in it in the last few years was bringing it down from Wimborne.

“It gets lots of attention – people look through the glass at it.”

The E-Type was manufactured between 1961 and 1974. Its combination of good looks, high performance and competitive pricing established it as an icon of 1960s motoring and more than 70,000 E-Types were sold.
