SCHOOLCHILDREN brought Verwood to a standstill as they performed samba songs following a term of free musical classes.
The year 3 and 4 youngsters from Verwood, Hillside and Trinity first schools have all received music sessions courtesy of Dorset Music Service.
And this week they joined together on the green in Verwood town centre to perform a collection of songs.
Graeme Thew, music area leader for Dorset Music Services, said a small number of the students will continue music classes, learning how to play more conventional instruments.
“We hope this will encourage them to like music and join the county’s youth orchestras or bands.”
