A NEW collection of signed artwork by Bob Dylan is going on show in Bournemouth.

Signed limited edition prints from The Drawn Blank Series by the guitar legend will be available for private viewing at Westover Gallery on Friday, before the official opening on Saturday.

The gallery on Westover Road has already boasted work by the American singer, which was previously shown off alongside work by Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.

And manager Alison Tanswell said Dylan’s work has been popular.

“We are one of very few selected galleries in the UK,” she said.

“There is literally only a handful of us showing his work.

“Since 2008 he has done a collection every year and it gets more popular with more and more people buying into it.

Dylan’s watercolour and gouache paintings are based on drawings and sketches made while on the road since 1989.

His pieces already on show in Bournemouth included Woman On A Bed, Sunflowers and Woman in Red Lion Pub.

This new collection has eleven images featuring six never before published pieces from The Drawn Blank Series as well as new interpretations of some of his most iconic works.

The new signed pieces include the colourful Bell Tower in Stockholm, Backstage Dressing Room, Train Tracks and Motel Pool.

The prints have been hand-signed by Dylan in graphite pencil.

“He is critically acclaimed, His artwork is on show in museums and is in private collections.

“The interest in this latest work has been massive already and it’s not been officially launched yet” added Alison.

Alison said Dylan’s work has been popular in its own right for its artistic merit, being sought after by investors and art collectors as well as his fans.

She said: “There are the Bob Dylan fans and people who want to put money into art as an investment.

“Then there’s the people who really like it regardless of it being Bob as well.”
