FIVE years ago, Bournemouth announced an air festival to boost the tourist trade.
There will have been those who doubted whether it was what the town needed, or whether the tourism department could bring it off.
But it has proved such a draw that it’s hard to imagine summer without it.
Now, the council has unveiled the frst International Wheels Festival. There’s a long way to go between announcing something and pulling off another big success. But locals would be well-advised not to plan any trips away for May 24-26 next year.
