A NINE-year-old Poole girl involved in a collision with a cyclist near Branksome Chine beach last week is still “very poorly”, police have confirmed.
Leila Crofts, of Sandbanks, was taken to Southampton General Hospital’s paediatric intensive care unit following the incident at 4.30pm on Friday, July 26.
She was crossing Pinecliff Road when the collision occurred.
The cyclist allegedly left the scene and Dorset Police issued an appeal for him to come forward.
A 38-year-old man from Bournemouth was later arrested after presenting himself at a police station.
He has been released on police bail to enable further inquiries to take place.
Leila’s mother and father, Chanine Boulton and Darren Crofts have asked for everyone’s thoughts and prayers to be with Leila, who has a younger sister.
