POOLE residents are being asked to nominate a community safety hero for the John Jay Shield.
This award is presented every autumn to an individual or group judged to have contributed the most to improving community safety in Poole over the previous year.
It is presented by the Safer Poole Partnership and last year was nominated to Sandie Marie, in recognition of her work supporting victims of domestic abuse.
Borough of Poole cabinet portfolio holder for public engagement, Cllr Judy Butt, pictured, said: “Every year many community-minded individuals are put forward for this prestigious award.
“However, we know there are many other people out there who also work tirelessly to improve their communities without recognition and we are keen to know who they are.
“Do you know someone who meets the criteria? If you do then please nominate them for this award so that their community can give them the recognition they so richly deserve.”
