VEHICLES in Bournemouth and Christchurch were targeted by thieves early on Wednesday morning.
Police were called to Douglas Road in Bournemouth after reports of two people – a man and a woman – acting suspiciously in the area.
The informant told the police there had also been a theft from a van.
Police attended and discovered a total of five cars including the vehicle in Douglas Road and others in Twynham Road and Foxholes Road in Christchurch had been damaged and items stolen.
Officers searched the area but did not find anyone.
Several people also reported damage to their vehicles later that day, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are continuing.
