FIREFIGHTERS were called to Kinson Common on Thursday evening after a fire was started.
A crew from Redhill Park were called to the scene around 7.20pm and used a hose reel jet and beating to extinguish the flames.
Around 200square metres of heathland and undergrowth was involved in the fire.
A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said the cause was believed to be malicious.
