A TRACTOR and baler were destroyed by fire on the A350 north of Shaftesbury last night.
Crews from Shaftesbury, Gillingham and Wiltshire Fire Service were sent to the scene at Semley at around 9.30pm.
They used foam to get the flames under control.
Crews also had to deal with running fuel that was alight.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire started in the tractor's engine compartment.
The Highways Agency was called to clear the road surface.
Crews remained on scene until around midnight and motorists were urged to avoid the area.
