A RETIRED man who was critically injured in a car crash is no longer in a life-threatening condition.
The pensioner was hurt following a collision between his Citroen convertible and a Daihatsu Hijet camper van near Stag Gate on the A31 last month.
He was put into a medically-induced coma at Southampton General Hospital to recover.
His wife was discharged from Poole Hospital shortly after the crash on Tuesday, July 9.
Dorset Fire and Rescue were called to release the couple in the Citroen, but their injuries meant it took around half-an-hour to remove them.
The second couple were taken to Poole Hospital after their camper van rolled in the collision.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “The injured man is no longer in a life-threatening or life-changing condition.”
