THE three Conservative councillors representing Hamworthy on Borough of Poole have nailed their colours to the mast over the town’s gyratory system options.
Cllrs Mike White, Graham Chandler and Mike Wilkins favour option two, which keeps two lanes of traffic in West Street and has new pedestrian and zebra crossings.
They are against the build-out opposite Bay Hog Lane, which aims to direct traffic over the Twin Sails Bridge.
Cllr Chandler described it as “one of the worst ideas anyone can imagine” which would cause gridlock when vehicles were queuing for the bridge. Residents have until September 6 to submit their views to Borough of Poole.
