VOLUNTEERS whose hard work helps run Poole’s eight children’s centres were thanked at a fun, free event in the sunshine.
All 70 active volunteers who help out at Borough of Poole centres were invited to the event in celebration of their achievements, hard work and dedication.
Thirty-three volunteers and 30 children attended the free fun and games at the Ted Webster Children’s Centre in Ashley Road, Parkstone.
While there were pamper taster sessions for the adults to enjoy and a barbecue lunch, there was a children’s entertainer, outside activities and a raffle supported by local businesses.
Cllr Janet Walton, cabinet portfolio holder for children and families said: “We are lucky to have so many inspirational volunteers who are willing to give up their time, not only to provide valuable support to our children’s centres but to help us to make a difference to families in Poole.
“This event is to thank all the volunteers for what they do and to demonstrate how much we value their commitment and dedication. We couldn’t do it without them.”
