A MAN staying in a former Bournemouth hotel had £800 stolen while he was having an afternoon sleep.

The 27-year-old, who is from Bournemouth, was in his room at the ex-Lynton Hotel in West Hill Road when someone broke in and stole his black wallet and a blue bag.

A Dorset Police spokesman said “On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 13 an unknown person broke into a hotel room at the Lynton Hotel, West Hill Road while the occupant was sleeping.

“A black wallet containing £250 and a blue bag containing £550 were both stolen.”

The spokesman said “an unknown male” was reported as responsible for the theft.
