A WOMAN driver had a close shave when part of a tree fell into the road in Burton.
Residents said her car came close to being struck when a large branch of a fir tree came down in Salisbury Road.
Janet Oliver was at home in Salisbury Road when she looked out and saw the branch covering the road.
She said: “It must have missed her by inches.
“It’s a really big thick branch that fell off the tree.
“I think she just made it past before it fell”
A Dorset Police spokesman said road closures were put in place after the branch fell at 11.25am and a tree surgeon was called.
The road was clear by 12.30pm
