AN ESTRANGED father has said he was tempted to sue his own daughter over his “idiotic” portrayal in a film she co-wrote and starred in which has premiered in Hollywood.
Ieuan Llewellyn, 53, from Bournemouth said he feels humiliated after finding the trailer for his daughter’s new short film Gwyndor which depicts a surprise visit from an embarrassing father.
He said: “Can you imagine waking up and finding out a film has been made about you, completely without your knowledge?
“She has grossly exaggerated my character and portrayed me as completely drunk and idiotic, but it’s me without a shadow of a doubt.”
Ieuan and his 29-year-old daughter, Nathalie Antonia, have not spoken a word in seven months and never lived together, as Ieuan and Nathalie’s mother Julie split up.
He said: “I did abandon them, but I have always supported her acting career in LA and I am immensely proud of her.”
Gwyndor received Official Selection at NewFilmmakers in Los Angeles and was directed by David Crabtree and jointly written by Nathalie and Dixie Perkinson.
Ieuan said: “I’ve wrestled with whether to sue David, Dixie and Nathalie, but I don’t think I could do that to my own daughter.
“When I first saw the video I thought I was going nuts and I’ve been tempted to fly over the LA and throttle the director.”
Nathalie said the short film has nothing to do with her father.
She said: “I don’t have a relationship with my father. He is not a very well man.”
In an interview with Disarray magazine, Nathalie and Dixie thanked their fathers for giving them an “endless amount of material”.
The film premiered at the Chinese Man Theatre in LA on Friday August 16.
