THE NEW children’s playground at Queen’s Park Golf Course was unveiled yesterday amid plans to make the area more family-friendly.

In addition to the kid’s area, there is also a new Terrace Cafe and Bar in Queen’s Park, alongside a number of improvements to the Pavilion building and its surroundings, including the installation of new toilets and baby changing facilities.

Situated close to the Pavilion for easy access, the children’s playground features a range of play equipment for children of all ages including a raised play deck and seating areas.

The Terrace Cafe and bar features both indoor and outdoor seating, suitable for golfers, families and park visitors, which will be managed by BH Live Hospitality.

Cllr Lawrence Williams, Cabinet member for tourism, leisure and culture, described the opening of the children’s park as exciting news for Queen’s Park.

He said: “The new children’s playground along with other improvements made to the Pavilion and its facilities are impressive and will really enhance the park by making it an even more appealing place to visit for all the family.”

Alex Robertson, general manager for BH Live Hospitality, said: “The new Terrace Bar and Cafe has already been well received by the public and is a fantastic asset to the park, benefitting local residents and visitors.

“The Terrace Cafe environment and menu compliments the new play facilities and provides customers with speedy service and quality refreshment.”

Steps and ramps have also been built around the Pavilion to allow access for pushchairs, wheelchairs, and wheeled golf bags, and a number of bike stands have been installed to encourage more residents to cycle to and from the park.
