A 60-year-old female pedestrian is fighting for life after she was involved in a collision with a cyclist in Purbeck on Saturday morning.
The woman from the Bedford area was rushed to Southampton General Hospital suffering from "serious, life threatening injuries" following the crash on Coombe Lane at the junction with Three Acre Lane at Langton Matravers.
She was airlifted from the scene and taken to hospital via the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
She remains in a critical condition.
The 61-year-old male cyclist from the Bournemouth area suffered "serious, but not life-threatening injuries" and was taken to Poole General Hospital.
The incident took place at 11.10am near a bus stop.
The road was closed until late into the night as officers from Dorset Police were called to deal with another serious collision on the A35 near Askerwell.
Nine police officers were called to the scene.
Residents spoke of their shock and upset at the accident, which happened just down the road from the Purbeck Folk Festival.
