MORE than 100 of Ceejay Broadhead’s friends are expected to attend “a celebration of his life” in Southbourne.
The popular 19-year-old’s family is extending an open invitation to his friends to visit the service at Immanuel Church in Southbourne before hundreds of balloons are released and a big party is held at the Spyglass and Kettle pub.
His brother Phil said visitors should come dressed in bright colours and tie dye as they want to keep the day bright to remember Ceejay, who died in a car crash in Bransgore on Thursday, August 15.
Phil, 29, said: “It’s one big final party for Ceejay.
“And we want everyone to wear the brightest colours possible with tie dye and Hawaiian clothes as he was a bit of a surfer kind of dude who always wore everything bright and bold.
“You never saw him in black so we wanted to carry that theme on.”
The service is at the Immanuel Church in Southbourne Road at 11am tomorrow before the party at the Spyglass and Kettle on Stourwood Avenue.
Phil added:“We are keen for as many people to come as possible and we are keeping it as a celebration and we want everybody who knew him to be there.
“It helps us and it’s what he would’ve wanted.”
Ceejay’s mum and dad Kay and Paul and his three brothers and two sisters have been “completely overwhelmed by the support” they have received from other family and friends.
Phil added: “We are just really, really thankful and particularly for the funny stories that people have remembered Ceejay with.”
Phil is inviting friends to send their memories and funny stories involving Ceejay ahead of the funeral, which can be emailed to arron.hendy @bournemouthecho.co.uk to be passed on to the family.
