A petrol station was closed for two hours this afternoon after a car drove into a petrol pump.
Fire crews were called to the Sainsbury's petrol station on Ringwood Road, Ferndown at 3.50pm after a vehicle collided with a petrol pump and one other car.
The store manager immediately alerted the police and fire service and switched off the petrol and power. Ferndown firefighters inspected the area and made sure it was safe before they left the filling station at 4.20pm.
The fuel and power had already been isolated when they arrived and the police were still in attendance at 5.20pm.
There was no petrol spillage and no one was injured.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: “One silver Renault Clio registered to a driver from Hampshire drove directly into a petrol pump and one other vehicle.”
The other vehicle involved in the incident was a silver BMV registered to a driver from Verwood.
