A 31-year-old Bournemouth man has been charged with the murder of a Hampshire dad.
Damon Wright, of Pine Vale Crescent, Bournemouth, Dorset will appear at Southampton magistrates' court this morning charged with the murder of Kevin Wyeth, whose body was found in Southampton early on Saturday, August 24.
Anton Allera, Senior District Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service in Wessex said: “I have today authorised Hampshire Constabulary to charge Damon Wright with the murder of Kevin Wyeth, 31, from Woolston, Southampton.
"Mr Wyeth was found severely injured and unconscious in an alley that runs between Defender Road and Tankerville Road, in Southampton, in the early hours of Saturday. He died as a result of his injuries.
“I have carefully considered the evidence currently available in this case and I am satisfied that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Damon Wright to be charged with an offence of murder.
“This decision was made in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors.”
Detective Inspector Ellie Hurd from the Major Crime Investigation Team said: "I would like to thank the local community in the Woolston area for their assistance with our investigation which has led to today's charge."
