A MUM searching for her missing six-year-old daughter took her battle to Downing Street on Tuesday.

Leila Saber Mesbah Sabra handed over a petition on the steps of number 10 urging Prime Minister David Cameron to get involved in her two-and-a-half year battle to find A’ishah, who was taken for a second time while on an access visit with her father in Egypt.

She has joined forces with Abducted Angels to call for action in A’ishah’s case, for the government to be more proactive in all child abduction cases and for tighter laws to be made on passports.

Founder Sean Felton accompanied Leila, along with an MP Aidan Burley, to hand over the document which has been signed by more than 7,000 people.

Leila said: “I hope Mr Cameron will hear our pleas for help. British children are being taken and they need to be more proactive.”

A’ishah, whose grandmother Barbara Maas lives in Bournemouth, was just two when she first went missing in May 2009 while on an access visit with father Saber Mesbah Sabra in the country of Egypt.

Leila secured custody of A’ishah but went missing again during another access visit in 2011.
