ALMOST 30 former students of Parkstone Grammar School held a reunion at a Poole hotel to talk about their time in education.
In total, 26 ladies were joined by two ex-members of staff at the Haven Hotel in Sandbanks.
People travelled from as far away as Abu Dhabi, Aberdeen, London, and Wales to be with their old school friends, some of whom had not seen each other since they left the school after their time there from 1966-1973.
Alison Evans, one of the event’s organisers, told the Echo: “The core group of people have continued to meet up, but there were some who lived too far away and weren’t able to.
She added: “But it’s 40 years since we were at Parkstone Grammar, and we had both the former head and deputy head girl there for our year.
“It was so nice that we all got on so well together 40 years after we left, when in a couple of years we will all be turning 60.
“Many years ago, one of the girls had purchased an official video of the school, which was made by a Mr Percy Amy, which his daughters, Elizabeth and Hilary, had never seen until our reunion, and absolutely loved.
“It went very, very well, considering how much time has passed since we last saw each other.”
