TWO new late night venues will launch in Bournemouth this month in the former Bliss and Chilli Whites buildings.
This comes more than a year after the former Bliss and Chilli White venues closed their doors suddenly last January.
Now, two businessmen have decided to bring back life to the buildings and open up two venues called Plush and Puressence.
The former Chilli White nightclub is now renamed as Plush and opened its doors at the beginning of March.
Opening in two weeks after renovation work, the Puressence nightclub will be officially launched on Friday 28 March, with a guest appearance from singer Jason Derulo in his official after party after his show at the BIC earlier that night.
Owner Ernie Phelps, operations director of Pure Lounge Bars, and his business partner Colin Willis, said they are pleased to open up two venues in such a great location.
Mr Phelps said: “I’m excited to be in Bournemouth – it has a competitive and thriving nightlife and we’re hoping that we can only improve that.
“We are trying to create a sophisticated feel around the town.
“Bournemouth is now one of the busiest towns in the southwest and on par with the likes of Brighton’s nightlife.”
More than 50 staff have been employed across both new venues including bar staff and security staff.
Both venues have 24 hour licensing and are planned to be open four or five nights a week.
Mr Phelps said that the plans are to open Plush, which has a capacity of 1,100, from 10pm to 4am and Puressence, with a capacity of 1,461, from 10pm until 7am and some Saturdays to screen sport games.
This is the fourth venue for the Pure Lounge Bar company with a previous two clubs in Basingstoke and Andover.
Mr Phelps has a wealth of experience in late night venues with 20 years running a security company and nice years of experience running nightclubs.
