AN ELDERLY woman has been taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries after a crash in Swanage.
The female pedestrian in her 80s suffered serious arm injuries and suspected hip injuries after the collision with the white lorry in Kings Road East in Swanage.
Police have described her injuries as 'serious' and 'life-changing'.
Sergeant Nikki Burt said the woman was from Swanage and her next of kin have been informed.
She has been flown to Southampton General Hospital.
The lorry is a Volvo white tipper lorry registered to a company from Worth Matravers. It has been confirmed by police the lorry belongs to Suttles quarry.
The air ambulance landed on Swange seafront before the patient was flown to hospital.
There are scenes of crime officers and investigators on scene.
A spokesperson for South West Ambulance said they were called at 11.11am.
The road westbound is closed between the High Street and Kings Road West.
It has been reported there are numerous police cars on the scene.
The incident has apparently taken place near the Conservative Club.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call them with information on 101.
