FIREFIGHTERS were called to a block of flats in Poole at lunchtime after a food delivery van caught on fire.
Two crews attended the scene, off Sandbanks Road, Lilliput, where the box van was well ablaze.
It was heavily damaged in the fire, which started around midday.
No-one was injured and no surrounding property was damaged.
It is believed the van was making food deliveries in the area at the time, although the driver declined to make comment when requested to by the Daily Echo.
A Dorset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “A crew from Westbourne attended. When they arrived the van was well alight, so a second crew from Poole was requested.
“No-one has been injured and none of the surrounding properties have been damaged.
“The cause of the fire will now be investigated.”
A resident said: “It went up pretty quickly so I’m glad no-one was hurt.
“Someone won’t be getting their dinner today though.”
