FIREFIGHTERS dealt with a hay bale fire on a trailer in Lytchett Matravers this afternoon.
The service was called at 12.28pm to the junction of Lime Kiln Road and High Street.
In all, three crews of firefighters fought the flames – two from Poole fire station and a third from Hamworthy.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said that the blaze involved around five tonnes of hay, which were destroyed by the flames.
In all, 10 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were needed to put out the flames and crews stayed on the scene for several hours to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.
