Filming has finally finished on season 2 of Broadchurch, and we can't wait to see the results. Writer Chris Chibnall has been very careful to keep the plot under wraps - and we've avoided the spoiler-heavy filming shots you might have seen elsewhere in the spirit of preserving the suprise. Instead, here's just a few of the things we're looking forward to....

Bournemouth Echo:

The final day of filming for Broadchurch 2 at Eype.

1. Eve Myles

Bournemouth Echo:

It may get more and more like a Doctor Who reunion with every additional cast member - especially since reporter Ollie showed up in an episode with Peter Capaldi this month - but we are very excited to see Eve Myles joining the line up for series two. We've not seen any pictures of her on set - which, if you've been reading the speculation about the plot might give you a clue about the sort of character she might be playing. (Side note: David Tenant dresses a lot like the Doctor in real life. This makes us happy.)

2. What’s DI Hardy doing in the chalet?

When we last saw him, DI Alec Hardy was a bit of a wreck. He'd embarrased himself horribly with Becca, been told to clear his desk by the medical examiner and certainly seemed to be on his last legs. So what's happening here?

Bournemouth Echo:

A crime scene? Or is he moving to Broadchurch for good?

3. Charlotte Rampling

Bournemouth Echo:

Legenday actress Charlotte Rampling’s part has been kept under wraps, but most of the sneak peek shots have shown her at the Latimers house, with Danny’s dad Mark. So it might be safe to assume she’s Danny’s other grandma. But you can never tell with Broadchurch.

4. Ellie’s orange coat

Bournemouth Echo:

It’s not quite on the same level as Sarah Lund’s jumper, but Ellie’s been wearing this VERY bright orange number in a lot of the pictures we’ve seen. Will this be the start of a new winter trend? (Also: are they on mobility scooters here? We have NO IDEA).

5. The Broadchurch Echo

Bournemouth Echo:

Our favourite reporting team are back. Will they behave any more like actual journalists this time round? Probably not, but we don't really care.

6. What was the shot the crew risked their lives to get?

Bournemouth Echo:

OKay, we're being a bit melodramatic. But the coastguard were less than impressed when the crew took up this perilous perch on the edge of a cliff prone to crumbling. So, who is that on the beach, and will the the shot in question have been worth it?

7. Was there really a clue in the first part of the Broadchurch novel?

Apparently Chris Chibnall asked writer Erin Kelly to add a sentence somewhere in the beginning of her Broadchurch novel that gives a clue to series 2. Whatever it was, we've yet to identify it.

8. And finally, is this a clue about the plot?

Bournemouth Echo:

The official Broadchurch facebook page posted this photo of the code name the crew have been using during filming.

It could just be a reference to the fact that the series is looking at picking up the pieces after the crime. But Tea and Sympathy is also a famous 1950s play about bullying, homosexuality and not fitting in with the crowd. Perhaps co-incidentally, the main character is a schoolboy called Tom....
