WHEN Les Sherlock realised he had lost his wedding ring and it was probably in the local civic amenity tip, he thought he’d never see it again.
It represented 48 years of marriage and the idea that it was gone forever was devastating. But Les and his wife Gill reckoned without the tenacity and dedication of of staff at the Nuffield Road site who conducted a fingertip search for the proverbial needle in a haystack. They found the ring and reunited the couple with it.
The wedding ring may have been a band of gold. But the Borough of Poole staff are a band of real diamonds.
