THE extensive regeneration of Boscombe continues next month with the launch of new luxury apartments.
The Reef complex on Boscombe Spa Road has been named after the £1.4 million surf reef being constructed nearby.
The luxury apartments have been built in a horseshoe shape to maximise sea views with each one having at least one balcony or terrace.
The penthouses have air conditioning and hot tubs on roof terraces with prices for the two and three bedroom apartments up to £925,000.
Estate agents have already reported that property prices have jumped 30 per cent at Boscombe seafront since the regeneration began of the once neglected part of Bournemouth.
Sales agent for The Reef, Stephen Noble, said: "Despite all the regeneration plans not being completed the price of properties in the Boscombe area have already risen outstripping those in the immediate surrounding area.
"The surf reef will be the first European reef and will put Boscombe on the map, helping to drive commercial interest from businesses outside of the area too."
Property prices are expected to continue rising once the regeneration work is completed added Mr Noble.
The surf reef will be the first of its kind in the northern hemisphere and expected to attract up to 10,000 surfers per year, making the apartments desirable for investors and surf enthusiasts alike, he said.
Around 40 per cent of the original apartments have already been reserved prior to completion said Mr Noble.
Boscombe Pier, one of only 55 piers left in the country, has been neglected since the 1950s until work began to improve it this year.
A new restaurant, continental landscaping, surf shops and chalets will also line Boscombe seafront.
Bournemouth Borough Council believes this will create around 90 jobs and bring the equivalent of £10 million in publicity for the area.
