A NEW flagship Executive model has been added to the all-new Volvo S80 saloon range.

The most luxuriously equipped Volvo ever, the S80 Executive features a refrigerator in the rear, walnut inlays, heated front and rear seats, Dynaudio Premium Sound audio, personal car communicator, keyless drive, chrome accents, 18in alloy wheels and bespoke Executive badging.

Options include an integrated dual band or Bluetooth telephone and Volvo's latest generation RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment) with DVD player, two seven-inch screens in the rear of the front head restraints and two sets of cordless headphones.

The Executive express comes with the choice from three engines (all with a six-speed Geartronic automatic transmission as standard), starting with Volvo's D5, five-cylinder, 2.4-litre turbodiesel delivering 185bhp and a 60mph sprint time of eight seconds.

Priced at £38,182, it is the most economical engine choice in the range with 44.1mpg on the Combined cycle and a CO2 rating of 193g/km.

This results in a 28 per cent Benefit in Kind tax rating, meaning that a typical 40 per cent tax payer would face a £4,276 annual Company Car Tax calculation.

Next up with a £39,687 price tag is a 3.2 litre six-cylinder petrol engine offering 238bhp and capable of reaching 60mph in 7.4 seconds. Volvo's electronic AWD (All Wheel Drive) with Haldex coupling and Instant Traction is available with this engine.

It will return 28.8mpg on the Combined cycle with emissions of 234g/km. Falling into the 33 per cent BIK category, the 40 per cent tax rating works out at £5,238.

Topping the range is Volvo's 315bhp 4.4-litre V8 (£47,707) which is capable of travelling from a standstill to 60mph in six seconds while giving 23.7mpg on the Combined cycle and emissions of 284g/km.

With a BIK banding of 35 per cent this will attract a £6,678 Company Car Tax figure for the 40 per cent taxpayer.
