German student, 20, victim of race attack A GERMAN student was horrified when she returned home to find vandals had caused £2,000 worth of damage to her car and sprayed the vehicle with Nazi symbols.
Daniela Breitinger, 20, from Dusseldorf said: "There were blue swastikas painted on the side and bonnet, along with racist messages telling me to go home.
"There was a big hole in the windscreen, my wing mirror had been smashed and the car was covered in scratches. I found glass nearby and it looked like someone had used a bottle to cause the damage, as well as kicking the car.
"It all happened in broad daylight. We live opposite a park and I still can't believe that no one saw the people who did this."
Daniela, a media student at Bournemouth University, had left her black Volkswagen Lupo, displaying a Dusseldorf registration plate, parked outside her home in Elmes Road, Winton, on Thursday, March 1.
She said: "I've been here for one and a half years and I've never been subjected to racist abuse before. I'm shocked and devastated because there is no way I can afford to pay the £2,000 repair bill.
"My insurance company won't pay up because the person who caused the damage hasn't been found.
"As well as studying in Bournemouth, I work in London.
"I now walk to university but I can't drive to London any more so I can't even work to save up for the repairs. The train journey is too expensive."
A Dorset police spokesman confirmed that officers had been called to Elmes Road following reports of the incident. He said: "They carried out house to house enquiries but there were no witnesses and no suspects.
"We rely on public help and would urge anyone who knows anything about this incident to get in touch with us immediately."
