WIMBORNE Wayfarers ladies completed their Channel Division One season with a 2-0 win over Poole.
Rachel Harlow's goals confirmed a second-place finish in the table with the side amassing 40 points but just falling short of the divisional title. The second team secured a 3-2 victory over Bournemouth thanks to strikes from Sarah L Parker, Diane McGrail and Cathy Taylor.
FOUR-STAR MEN
WIMBORNE'S men faced a six-pointer with fellow strugglers Portsmouth and and ran out 4-0 winners.
A strong start from the home side saw Ed Gibbs score from a short corner after a deft pass from Martin Miah was deflected into Gibbs's path by Jonny Reid.
Miah then arrived late at a short corner to flick the ball into the net and take the score to 2-0. Miah secured his brace 25 minutes after the break with a carbon copy flick into the corner.
On a high, Wimborne pushed up with Ian Rossiter dribbling smoothly into the penalty area and winning a penalty flick which Miah slotted in for his hat-trick hero as Wimborne went a step closer to safety.
