WESSEX'S Under-18 men excelled at the weekend as they stormed through their semi-final in the National Volleyball Cup to reach the final, which will be held in Sheffield on April 22.
Solid performances from Oli Kimber, Jamie Hanratty and captain Dan Hunter eased Wessex to a 25-19 opening set score in the semi-final against Sheffield before Mark Garcia-Kidd's heroics, and Sam Playfair's sublime serving in the second eventually proved too strong for the Yorkshire side, who succumbed 25-22 to hand Wessex the match.
