WUH-OH, little Jewish lad Bernie is planning the mother of all bar mitzvah parties, but pesky England have performed admirably in the World Cup, and the final against Germany falls on the same day - disaster!
Sixty Six is loosely based on director Paul Weiland's personal experiences, and while the subject matter should scream "kitsch Brit film with lashings of quirk and jolity", its potential is somewhat wasted.
That's not to say it's a bad film, rather a lot more could, and should, have been made of it.
Helena Bonham Carter strikes fine form as Bernie's mum, and Peter Serafinowicz and Catherine Tate provide some much needed comic sidebars.
