A BUS was evacuated in Poole today after it caught fire.
Firefighters were called to Penn Hill Avenue at 5.56pm following reports that a single decker was alight.
A Dorset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said a crew from Westbourne reached the scene within four minutes.
The spokesman added: "They extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and stood down the oncoming appliance from Poole by 6.06pm.
"The fire is believed to have been accidental and the engine compartment of the bus sustained only very minor fire damage.”
