LORRIES calling at a New Milton flower nursery are making residents' lives a misery, it is claimed.
People living opposite Double H Nurseries in Gore Road have to put up with lorries reversing into the site's narrow entrance 22 hours a day.
They have complained to the town council about the noise and headlights shining through their windows at night.
Royden Long, who lives with wife Pauline near the entrance, said lorries drive right up to the pavement before reversing into the nursery. "We clocked 46 movements one Saturday. This is regular," he said.
They are regularly woken by the noise, headlights and the smell of diesel.
Tina Davis, who lives with husband Paul and mother and father Jean and Brian Holmwood, has been keeping a diary of lorry movements for New Forest District Council's environmental health team.
On March 14 she listed a dozen between 1.35am and 7.17am and another 29 between 3.30pm and 11.29pm.
She says Double H has grown out of all proportion since they moved to Gore Road 20 years ago.
New Milton Town Council has objected to Double H's plans for a replacement greenhouse and extensions to a glasshouse block and packing shed.
"The current access is already inadequate, particularly for the size of lorry now attempting to enter the site," says the planning committee.
"An alternative arrangement to allow...large vehicles to enter and leave...must be devised and implemented as a matter of urgency to resolve the antisocial and environmentally unfriendly activities of these large vehicles to alleviate nearby residents' distress."
Councillors want delivery times restricted.
