AM I the only person who can't stand the TV game show Deal or No Deal?
I've got to the point now that when I see it on TV, I have this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, as if something has died - like decent game shows.
I mean what is the appeal? A bunch of strangers, pretending to care about what's in a box, when all they are thinking is Come on mate, hurry up, I can't wait to get my chance of being quids in'.
There's no skill involved: there's no glamour, there's not even an annoying buzzer.
I'm not saying 3-2-1 required contestants to have scientific brains, or that The Price is Right was taxing, but come on!
As for Noel Edmonds, don't get me wrong, I actually like the guy. I'm really quite happy for him that he's managed to make a comeback after Noel's House Party, but I can't stand that face he pulls when the phone rings and The Banker is on the other end.
You know the face - the one where he looks like someone has stuck a wet flannel down his Y-fronts.
I'm so tempted to join the audience and when that blasted phone rings, I want to pick it up and ask The Banker to reveal himself.
Wouldn't I just have egg on my face if it happened to be Gordon Brown or Nick Stern?
