A BLAZE in the thatched roof of a cottage in the Street, Milton Abbas, was put out by firefighters on Thursday.
Crews from Dorchester, Blandford and Sturminster Newton went to the scene just after 4pm and firefighters remained on the scene for two hours. Four square metres of the roof were damaged. The cause is believed to have been a spark from the chimney.
