IT'S a tribute to the teamwork behind TV's longest-running police drama that it continues to attract huge audiences years after the death of the actor who was its anchor, and after whose character it was named.

It's an idea developed in a particularly good episode involving a clairvoyant.
Tightly written scripts, good ensemble playing and effective use of Glasgow locations are all plus points in this quality series.
And of course the word "murder" takes on a special resonance when spoken with a robust Scots accent!
