Razorlight strut into Bournemouth on Sunday - a band at the top of their game. Not only do they have a genuine rock star in the making in Jaggeresque frontman Johnny Borrell, but they have all the right connections too.
They count Noel Gallagher and Bono among their many serious fans and have captured the imagination of the tabloid press with some suitably excessive shenanigans. In other words, they have all angles covered in the publicity stakes.
The new Razorlight tour arrives at the BIC just a week or so after the release of the band's fourth single I Can't Stop This Feeling I've Got.
Opening with the distinctive heartbeat of Andy Burrow's bass drum and bass player Carl Dalemo's resonant counterpoint, it has already been described as "a master class in classic song writing".
Co-written by Borrell and guitarist Björn Ågren, the song looks like becoming a Razorlight classic.
The band have sold over 2.2 million albums and every release has proved to be a monster radio, hit but it's their live performances that really quicken the pulse.
As Noel Gallagher says: "They're one of the few bands who make me feel inspired to go out and play a gig."
