THE penguins at Bournemouth's Oceanarium will be on view to the public from today, Saturday, although their new home will not be fully open until Tuesday.
The attraction's new displays will open until next week, but the penguins will be on view from above at the Oceanarium's beach area from 10am on Saturday.
Following the £1.5million development project, people will soon be able to see the Humboldt penguins in their own dedicated home at the Bournemouth aquarium.
Residents have spent the past few weeks looking for Humbug the penguin, the Oceanarium's 10ft tall mascot, at various locations around Bournemouth.
Daily Echo readers grabbed selfies with Humbug as part of a competition to win a silver membership and a goodie bag.
Humbug has now made his way to the Oceanarium, where he will stand on the first floor to greet visitors.
Sara Kirchel, Oceanarium marketing and PR manager, said: "Humbug has reached his final destination at the Bournemouth aquarium where visitors can continue to take photos with him but more importantly, experience the brand new Penguin Beach Encounter exhibit where they can see the real penguins and also discover all the new features of the £1.5m development from Tuesday July 28."
