THE A31 was blocked at Stoney Cross due to a fire this afternoon, causing long delays.
Firefighters attended at the scene of the blaze, which involved a camper van containing a gas cannister.
Traffic heading east towards Southampton was held while the incident was resolved, leading to long queues, particularly with many fans travelling to watch AFC Bournemouth play Southampton at St Mary's.
The queues stretched back as far as the Burley services.
The road was partially reopened around 3.30pm and fully reopened after 4.15pm.
#A31 e/bound between the #A338 #Ringwood(east) and the #M27 is now fully open. Thanks for your patience. Have a safe onward journey.
